The national park was created on January 1, 1988 in honor of Blanca Jeanette Kawas and is located west of the city of Tela.

It has 4 different ecosystems, including:

 

• Tropical rainforest

• Mangrove forest

• Floodplain forest

• Grassy marsh

Within them you can find several rivers, lagoons, canals and reefs, lagoons, rocky cliffs, sandy beach, rocks, coral reefs, seagrass beds, among others.

It has a diverse range of activities to do with family and friends .
